Fire and Stone
The gourmet pizza menu at Fire and Stone in Portsmouth will take you on a trip around the globe from Morocco to Melbourne and back again with its famous, internationally-themed wood-fired delights. This bright and trendy family-friendly restaurant in Gunwharf Quays is located right alongside the harbour with excellent water views, and everything from the smiley service to the killer cocktails and locally sourced produce make this a fantastic place for parties and get-togethers with friends. The menu includes something for everyone – but we especially love the New York pizza topped with crispy oven-roasted bacon, garlic and rosemary roasted potatoes, caramelised onion jam and sour cream; and the deep-fried French goat’s cheese salad with butternut squash, balsamic onions and pesto.

Sealevel Restaurant and Lounge
Set in the heart of Portmouth on Southampton Road, The Sealevel restaurant is located inside the recently refurbished Marriott hotel in a cavernous lobby-esque space. Decorated in bold colours with cocoon-style curved booths and traditional tables, this chic eatery is a stylish choice for dinner dates, cocktail rendezvous, corporate entertaining and celebrations and attracts a glossy crowd of business travellers, fashionistas and food-lovers. Sealevel is open all day and the fresh, simple seafood-led menu includes favourites such as the clam chowder with smoked pancetta; the Guinness-battered haddock with mushy peas, sea salt fries, tartare sauce and Sarson's vinegar; and the slow-roasted pork belly with a white bean casserole and salsa verde.

Tiger Tiger
Tiger Tiger’s own brand of super-venue hits the heart of Portsmouth in typical style. Less romantic dining than pre-club-in-club dinner, Tiger Tiger is a well known brand on the Big Night Out scene. With more than enough room to swing a very big cat and pumping music blasted out across its two floors you could be forgiven for expecting a meat market. On the contrary, Tiger Tiger is flirty, fun and ideal for the young, style conscious diner. The Grill is inspired by the good old Manhattan loft. So burgers, steaks and salads rule while a little Asian inspiration adds a little spice.

Zizzi
Italian restaurant chain Zizzi opened the doors of its very first branch in London's Chiswick in 1999. Now there are over 100 branches, all decorated in an appealing contemporary style. Wood-fired ovens, open kitchens and modern interior design with locally influenced art features make for a vibrant atmosphere. As for the food, they serve up a variety of traditional Italian dishes including all the usual suspects: salads, antipasti, pasta, pizza, calzone, risotto as well as fish and meat mains and desserts. What Zizzi really pride themselves on is sourcing good quality ingredients; salads are dressed with white balsamic vinegar from Modena, for example, and offer Goddess Olives, a variety known for their firm flesh and nutty flavour. The modestly priced wine list is dominated by Italian wines, starting at £13.45 for a Montepulciano d'Abruzzo. The Portsmouth branch boasts beautiful views over the harbour at Gunwharf Quays; the tasty Italian food is the ideal accompaniment to a day by the sea.
