Groundlings Theatre Company is Portsmouth’s only professional theatre company and has been established for seven years with the aims of creating opportunities for everyone to learn life long skills in team building, communication skills and confidence building as well as creating employment opportunities within the arts and art related projects and business. Over the years Groundlings has set up many projects including a unique training centre for young actors, creative workshops in arts related fields such as presenting, stage management, TV and Film, dance and Costume construction. Hundreds of young people have trained through Groundlings with some going on into the industry. Our highly trained tutors teach by treating each student as a professional giving encouragement and clear goals to aim towards. We have had a huge success rate with many of our students now working within the Arts industry and four of our students this last year entering the National Youth Theatre.
